Glenview has grown a lot over the years, and the housing reflects that. You’ve got the original ranch and split-level homes from the ’50s and ’60s, the larger homes built in the ’80s and ’90s, and then the newer construction that came with The Glen development and other recent builds. We’ve worked on all of it.
We’ve been painting in Glenview since around 2007, and a lot of our business there comes from homeowners who’ve used us before or who got our name from a neighbor.
Why Glenview Homeowners Work With Us
The diversity of housing in Glenview means the work varies a lot from one project to the next. On an older ranch, we might spend most of our time on prep: repairing plaster cracks, replacing damaged trim, sanding and priming woodwork. On a newer home, the surfaces are in better shape, but the homeowner might want more detailed color work or a custom finish in a specific room.
Newer construction in Glenview, especially homes built in the last 15 years, often has builder-grade paint that was applied thin with minimal prep. One coat of cheap flat paint over barely-primed drywall. When these homes are ready for a repaint, we clean the surfaces, lightly sand, prime where needed, and apply two coats of quality paint. The difference is noticeable immediately.
Exterior work on Glenview’s older homes often involves dealing with cedar shake siding, which needs to be stained rather than painted for best results. We strip old finish, treat bare wood with a wood brightener, and apply a quality penetrating stain that soaks into the wood rather than sitting on top of it.
