Specialty Wall Paints for Home/Office: Dry Erase, Chalkboard, Magnetic

Posted by Anthony Giangrossi Nov 15 2015

Homeowners are always asking me are there products that can be applied to walls that will allow them or their children to write, draw or apply magnets directly on the walls that can be easily cleaned or removed. There are five great specialty wall paints that can be applied that will transform kitchen, office or bedroom walls into a space for art, reminders or notes.

There are four products by IdeaPaint that will transform your wall into a dry erase board and or magnetic wall.

1. Create Clear is a top coat that can be applied over any existing wall paint/color that will allow you to write on the wall with easy clean up. This product will show the existing color through the clear coat.

2. Create White is a paint that can be applied over existing wall paint that will provide a gloss white finish.

3. Pro is the same as Create White but is more for an office or school setting where there will be a lot of writing, drawing and cleaning.

Here is link to the three products mentioned above: http://www.ideapaint.com/products#paint

4. Pull is their magnetic wallcovering that pairs with any of the three products mentioned above.

Here is a link to the magnetic wallcovering: http://www.ideapaint.com/article/bring-more-to-your-walls

There are videos within the IdeaPaint links that will show you how to apply the products.

If you prefer to have a chalkboard wall, Benjamin Moore makes a great product that can transform any interior wall space into a chalkboard wall.

Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions regarding application for any of the above mentioned products.

The next blog will provide information on how and where to properly dispose of old paint.

Interior Decorating with Opposite and Bold Colors

Posted by Anthony Giangrossi Nov 08 2015

When it comes to interior decorating your home with opposite or bold colors, going the route of accent pieces as explained in my last blog is much easier than making the decision to paint your walls with opposite or bold colors. In this blog I’m going to provide you with two articles that will present ideas and reasoning on why to paint your walls with opposite or bold colors.

Below is a link to an article with nine design ideas for opposite colors:

http://www.houzz.com/ideabooks/54440591?utm_source=Houzz&utm_campaign=u1880&utm_medium=email&utm_content=gallery20

If you like the idea of having the main space of your home painted with white or pastel colors but are looking to add a punch of color on the walls a good idea is to choose a small space in your home to add that bold color. Below is an article of bold colors to use in a small space like a powder room but could also be used in a bedroom or kids bathroom:

Hopefully you find the above information helpful to make your decision to move out of your comfort zone and add a splash of color to your walls.

Please be sure to sign up for the blog to continue to get valuable information to help you with your interior painting projects and other general painting tips.

The next blog will focus on specialty wall paint for the home or office that will allow you to be creative with design ideas.

Interior Decorating White Wall Spaces: Bold Accents

Posted by Anthony Giangrossi Nov 01 2015

At the end of the blog last week I stated this blog would be about specialty wall paint for the home or office that will allow you to be creative with design ideas. I’ll address that topic in my November 15th blog as I have decided to change my mind and play off the blog from last week regarding 2016 colors of the year. As I mentioned in that blog, painting walls with off-white or pastel colors will allow you to decorate the space with bold and beautiful accent pieces, furniture, rugs, bedding or art.

When it comes to interior decorating most people are hesitant to paint walls with bold or bright colors which is why using the wall space as soft backdrop to bold accent pieces, furniture, rugs, bedding or art is a wonderful idea and safe 🙂 Also changing your mind on decorating a room is much easier as the walls don’t need to be repainted and can simply change out the accent pieces.

Below is a link to an article that will provide you with 10 design ideas when painting your walls white:

http://www.houzz.com/ideabooks/55288842?utm_source=Houzz&utm_campaign=u1988&utm_medium=email&utm_content=gallery17

For those of you that prefer bold or bright wall colors the next blog will feature articles regarding opposite colors that go together and bold colors for smaller spaces when wanting to add that punch of color not within your main living space.
